As we know static websites is a web page that contains fixed content. Each page is coded with HTML and provides the same information to end user. It doesn’t require any web programming or database design like the dynamic website. So if you want to change the content of your static HTML websites, then CMS will help you out by using any HTML editor like Adobe Dream weaver, Expression web, Froala editor, HTML kit etc… and a web host with FTP.
First create a static web page, where you are going to add the Content Management System.
Then open any HTML editor according to your choice. Dream Weaver is one of the good HTML editors and then open your index.html file.
Find out which part you want to edit by adding the class tag into that section of your HTML page. i.e Class=”cushycms”. By mentioning cushycms you let to Cushy know that what part of your page editable and then save the index.HTML page.
Upload that file to the server via FileZilla which is a free File Transfer Protocal (FTP) client.
Then go for the cushycms software through Google search engine which is absolutely free and very easy to use especially for static web pages. After getting the result in search engine, click on the first link and proceed towards by signing up your account.
After sign up clicks on the Add new site button, it will redirect you to a page where you need to put the website URL into the Site URL field and then put all the FTP detail into that server, user, and password field so that web application can access and make changes to our websites. And then choose to add new site button after finding the path by clicking on choose with FTP browser.
Now you are going to assign the page to your site by clicking the button assign page to site. Here you are going to select every single HTML page you want to be dynamically editable. From below index.html changed to home page name by mentioning it in the page field. Don’t forget to click on Assign Page button because it saves your page name. If you forgot to put the tag then it’ll give you a warning / an error.
Once we have in order to edit the pages, simply click on the name of the pages where the small green arrow from the left side mention and then it redirects you the web editor page. Here you add the content simply like the word processor and then publish it by clicking on Publish page.
After editing all the pages, navigate to your website and you can see all the changes you have made.
- Here no need to install the cushyCMS software and it’s totally free and easy to use.
- There is one limitation in here is that, you have to use FTP registration details while adding the new site in cushyCMS software.
